Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

A strong high pressure area has settled over Central Florida resulting in cool mornings and warm afternoons with partly cloudy skies for the next few days. On Friday, the high pressure area will slide south of the Space Coast, while a frontal system approaches the Florida Panhandle. This will bring mid-level cloudiness across the area. The primary weather concern for Friday morning is the Thick Cloud Layer Rule. On Saturday, the high pressure area will remain entrenched to our south, breaking up the east-west oriented frontal system as it tries to push near the Spaceport. This will add some very isolated showers across the area while enhancing the mid-level cloudiness. The primary launch weather concerns Saturday morning are the Cumulus Cloud Rule associated with the showers and the Thick Cloud Layer Rule.
