Slightly stronger observed southwest steering flow today will likely lead to an earlier start to showers and storms compared to yesterday. A few showers are expected to start popping up over the Cape between 1130-12L, with a 60% chance of a Cumulus Cloud Rule violation for the beginning of the window. Further into the window, scattered storms are likely to move in from the west, with Surface Electric Fields and Lightning Rule violations added. A few storms could bring strong winds, with a slight chance for damaging winds, after the launch window today. For backup day Monday, the mid-level trough flattens and high pressure starts to build back in, bringing a lower coverage of storms later in the day, with weaker steering flow.
