Forecast Discussion
High pressure will migrate into the western Atlantic today and tomorrow, allowing temperatures to moderate as winds turn southerly. A cold front is forecast to approach Friday, though models generally agree that it will remain to the north of the area through the launch window. At this time, the deepest moisture and best convergence along the front is not expected to reach central Florida until late in the afternoon. Meanwhile, forecast models continue to indicate an area of disturbed weather developing late Friday, resulting in scattered showers and perhaps even a thunderstorm into early Saturday morning. Gusty north winds are expected to develop on the low’s backside, drawing in somewhat drier air for Saturday’s launch attempt; however, there is still a concern for either a Cumulus Cloud or Thick Cloud Layer rule violation as low-level moisture is expected to linger into the afternoon.
