Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

The progress of a very weak cold front sagging into the state this morning will stall over the next 24 hours, bringing little more than an increase in clouds and potential for an Atlantic sprinkle to the Spaceport. Beyond this weak front, high pressure aloft over the Gulf of Mexico will dominate the weather across Florida through the week not allowing any additional boundaries of note to reach the area. The axis of a NE to SW oriented area of surface high pressure over the western Atlantic will be draped across Central Florida, keeping winds relatively light. Quiet and generally dry weather is expected into the primary launch window early Wednesday morning with passing low-topped cumulus clouds in the vicinity posing a very small concern for launch weather. There will be little change in the pattern into the backup launch window early Thursday morning, with just a few more low lopped cumulus clouds.
