Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

A weak frontal boundary will settle into North Florida today and will sag into Central Florida on Monday. The boundary will become extremely diffuse due to a lack of support aloft. Partly cloudy skies and mostly dry conditions are expected, but brief periods of drizzle may be possible near the coastline. On Tuesday, high pressure will build across the Gulf of Mexico, pushing the boundary east into the Atlantic. The weather pattern looks excellent for a launch attempt late Tuesday afternoon with the Cumulus Cloud and Thick Cloud Layers Rule being only a minor concern. Only subtle changes to the weather pattern occur on Wednesday, as high pressure continues to build across the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Winds will veer to the northeast and become breezier, with subtle moisture increases in the low levels. The only minor concern for the backup launch window at this time will be the Cumulus Cloud Rule.
