Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

The frontal boundary that is pressing into North Florida this morning will make its way down the peninsula through the remainder of the day. A strong area of high pressure moving into the eastern US behind the front will bring cool and cloudy conditions on Tuesday, along with breezy northeasterly flow ushering in Atlantic showers. There is some uncertainty in how strong a fast moving upper level system will cross the state Wednesday night, but there is model agreement that the bulk of the precipitation that develops as a result will transit east of the Spaceport by the primary launch opportunity Thursday morning. The primary concern for a Thursday morning launch attempt will be for Cumulus Clouds with any lingering showers. An area of low pressure will develop to the east of Florida late on Thursday, quickly moving up the eastern seaboard into Friday. Diminishing northwesterly flow will reinforce the dry and chilly air mass, with only a few Cumulus Clouds as a weather concern.
