Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

High pressure across the Mid-Atlantic will keep the Spaceport under easterly flow with occasional onshore moving Atlantic showers into Monday. The high will retreat early this week as a storm system moves into the Midwest, which will bring a weak frontal boundary through Central Florida on Tuesday with little fanfare. Despite the front, the threat for showers over land will be low going into the primary launch window Tuesday morning, with fog and stratus potentially around in the morning. An isolated shower moving in from the Atlantic can’t be ruled out, which will be the primary weather concern for the launch. Similar conditions are expected for the backup window Wednesday morning, with only a low threat for onshore moving cumulus as dry air moves in behind the front. Increasing pressure gradient will bump up onshore flow into Thursday, bringing an increase in cumulus clouds and Atlantic showers for the second backup window Thursday morning.
