Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

A remnant weak boundary remains sprawled across the Florida peninsula today, with light wind flow in the presence of lingering low level moisture leading to seabreeze formation and potentially a few showers this afternoon. Another frontal system is forecast sweep down the peninsula late Tuesday into Tuesday night and may trigger a few light showers during that time frame, along with a resurgence of drier, northeast wind flow in its wake. High pressure will then build across the area for mid-week bringing fair conditions and onshore flow to the region. Another system is expected to track across the Tennessee Valley late in the week, dragging another front towards the eastern Gulf of Mexico and Florida by Friday. Moisture ahead of this boundary will increase Thursday into Friday, leading to more clouds Friday afternoon. Thus, the primary weather concerns for both launch day and the backup opportunity are the extent and depth of cumulus clouds.
