Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

A surface boundary continues to sweep south across the central Florida peninsula this morning. This front is expected to pass through the area mainly dry, with just a few clouds ahead and along the boundary. However, its passage will lead to a resurgence of northeast winds this afternoon. High pressure will then build across the area tonight into tomorrow bringing fair conditions and onshore flow to the region. Another system is expected to track across the Tennessee Valley late in the week, dragging another front towards the eastern Gulf of Mexico and Florida by Friday. Moisture ahead of this boundary will increase Friday, leading to more clouds by the afternoon. The threat for showers is expected to hold off until after the Friday backup launch window. Thus, the primary weather concerns for both launch day and the backup opportunity are the extent and depth of cumulus clouds.
