Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

An area of low pressure is developing in the Gulf of Mexico along a boundary currently stalled across southern Florida. As this system strengthens and moves towards Florida Wednesday, it will lift the boundary northwards as a warm front. This will create overspreading rain and thunderstorms across Central Florida and the Spaceport. The primary launch weather concerns are the Thick Cloud Layers Rule and the Disturbed Weather Rule. Thursday will be very squally with storms and periods of heavy rain accompanying strong southwest winds. The weather will begin to diminish as the evening progresses, but showers will remain at least isolated through the window. The primary launch weather concerns Thursday evening are Liftoff Winds and the Cumulus Cloud Rule.
