Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

A strong cold front will push through the area tonight, bringing showers and a few thunderstorms. By sunrise Monday, the front and associated weather will have pushed well offshore, with surface high pressure building across the state. This will set up breezy conditions for Monday night’s launch attempt but otherwise favorable weather. This northeasterly low-level flow will strengthen further by the delay day opportunity as a weak trough develops along the old frontal boundary to the south, also triggering a few more clouds locally. Thus, liftoff winds remain a concern for both the Monday night and Tuesday night launch attempts, with a secondary concern on the backup day being additional upper-level cloud layers.
