Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

A large area of high pressure, currently centered over the Ohio Valley region, should dominate Central Florida’s weather through the backup day. For the primary launch window, that high is expected to be near the North Carolina coast, bringing breezy, easterly winds and dry, stable air to the spaceport. Weather is expected to be favorable, with winds and the Cumulus Cloud Rule being the primary concerns. By the backup day, the high is expected to have migrated eastward off the coast of North Carolina. Conditions are expected to be much like Saturday, although a slight decrease in wind speed and small increase in cloud cover are anticipated. The weather risk remains low overall, with wind and the Cumulus Cloud Rule continuing to pose a small threat.
