Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

A front will continue to dig into Central Florida throughout the day today and into tomorrow morning, which could generate some isolated showers and thunderstorms nearby the spaceport. The progression of the frontal boundary has slowed since yesterday, with a band of convergence expected to reach the spaceport by 1300L (1700Z) on Thursday afternoon. The main concern will be isolated showers activity and a potential Cumulus Cloud Rule violation ahead of the convergent boundary during the primary launch window. For the backup day, surface high pressure will build off the Southeast U.S. coastline and help transport drier air across the area on Friday, lowering chances for precipitation. The Cumulus Cloud Rule will be the main concern for the backup window as well, with slightly lower chances for violation.
