Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

A cold front will dig across the Spaceport this morning, with isolated showers and breezy winds. Conditions will improve tonight; however, mid-level clouds could linger across the area near the beginning of the primary launch window. High pressure will build across the Southeast Sunday into Sunday night, then a disturbance approaching the region Monday may increase mid-level clouds across the Spaceport as early as Monday morning. The POV overall is low for the primary and backup launch windows, with the concerns being the Thick Cloud Layers Rule. For recovery, significant seas heights may increase to 10-feet during the primary launch window, then decease shortly after. Seas could lower to around 5 feet by the backup window. Wind gusts near 35 fps are expected during the primary window, then lower for the backup window, with overall moderate risk for the primary recovery conditions and low for the backup recovery conditions.
