Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

Forecast Discussion: A complex weather pattern will bring periods of impactful weather to the Spaceport on Wednesday and Thursday. The boundary that pushed through central Florida on Sunday is expected to move back over the region and linger until Wednesday afternoon when the next low-pressure system pushes it eastward. Cumulus Cloud and Thick Cloud Layers Rule violations are likely during the primary window. For the backup day, a strong cold front is expected to move quickly through Florida. Multiple weather constraints could be violated during frontal passage, but the front is currently expected to clear the area late Thursday morning, near the time the window opens. Behind the front, skies will clear and winds will increase. The most likely weather constraint violation on the backup day is the Cumulus Cloud Rule, at the beginning of the window. There’s also a chance of liftoff wind limits being exceeded after frontal passage.
