Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

Forecast Discussion: Breezy conditions continue over the Spaceport today as winds behind the cold front linger. Mostlycloudy skies, gusty winds and isolated rain showers are expected this evening. By tomorrow, the elevated winds will trend downward to below liftoff constraints. Moist, low-level onshore flow will continue into tomorrow evening causing threats for the Cumulus Cloud Rule and the Think Cloud Layers Rule violations during the primary launch window. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible as residual instability from the stalled front along with afternoon sea breeze effects may enhance shower development. For the backup day, conditions marginally improve as moisture coverage and depth decrease over central Florida. The primary concern is the Cumulus Cloud Rule as southeasterly flow will continue to push low-level Atlantic cumulus onshore.
