Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

Forecast Discussion: Surface high pressure and low-level onshore flow will continue today causing partly cloudy skies and occasional foolish showers. An easterly wave embedded in the prolonged onshore flow will impact the Space Coast tomorrow morning. This will enhance rain shower development, especially in the late morning when combined with daytime heating and localized sea breeze effects. The Cumulus Cloud Rule will be a growing concern throughout tomorrow’s launch window, along with the Surface Electric Fields Rule if showers gain intensity. On Friday, the east coast sea breeze is expected to form and push inland, which may provide valuable subsidence over the Spaceport to inhibit cumulus growth. Decreased instability and moisture aloft will also dampen overall shower coverage for the area, further improving conditions on the backup day.
