Forecast Discussion

Space Launch Delta 45

Forecast Discussion: The surface high pressure currently nosed over the Florida Peninsula will gradually weaken as we move into the middle of the work week. This will promote generally light offshore flow into Wednesday resulting in the peak rain chances during the late afternoon and evening hours with the sea breeze pinned closer to the coastline. Overnight tonight shower activity will wane, leaving the area mostly dry leading into sunrise. By Thursday morning, breezes shift to the south to southwest allowing for some advection of moisture from the south along the coastline slightly increasing shower chances. On both primary and backup launch days, abundant moisture may support a few lingering cells or anvil tops from previous thunderstorms lingering in the vicinity of the Cape with a low concern of violating the Cumulus Cloud Rule and Anvil Cloud Rules.
